    Liz,
Focus one: Making sure teachers are better prepared and have everything necessary to be successful
I like the fact that you noted that teachers must be able to adapt and understanding. Unlike cubicle jobs, the classroom changes depending on each child that enters it; I agree that it is very important for teachers to be prepared for the unexpected as well as continuously learning and growing to best educate their students. I truly enjoyed the quote from Piaget that refers to teachers needing to be organized and efficient on not just their subject, but how it correlates to all subjects. In a perfect world, every teacher will be able to do this, but it supports your thesis of the need to reduce teacher turnover rate.
Focus two: mentorships throughout their career in order to increase success
I like the fact that you acknowledged the difficulty in pairing a mentor and mentee. Unfortunately, I feel like if the pairing is wrong the first time, it’ll cause doubt for the new teacher in the long run. There is a lot of pressure to provide a perfect match right away
I think that your action plan is a great idea in a perfect world! I feel like there should be a lot more emphasis on mentoring within all professions that help guide and form children. Well done on your paper!

Great paper and topic choice! I don’t think people outside of the world of education realize just how tremendous the teacher- turnover rate is. I liked that you acknowledge some of the reasons, such as new teachers not being properly prepared. The mentorship program is a great way to help new teachers feel comfortable and adjust to their new lifestyle.
