    Rosemarie,
Your paper and presentation echoed some of the concerns I had when we started online learning. I like how you correlated safety in the traditional classroom to safety in the online classroom. As we need to think about physical safety, like fire and active shooter drills, we should also think about online safety in terms of Zoom classrooms and cybersecurity. As I said after your presentation, the concepts of online etiquette and digital citizenship are important especially in today’s society and classrooms. Students should be aware of how they communicate with each other and their teachers in an online, professional environment. As their teachers and coaches, we should also model this for them as well.

Rosemarie, as I expressed after your presentation today, the parallel between monitoring a brick and mortar classroom and monitoring an online classroom was truly eye-opening. Although it has been around for many years, virtual instruction is new to many of us. The Difficulties that come with classroom management can be a struggle for many in a normal classroom setting. For those of us who are new to virtual instruction, and maybe even struggle with technology, the management of distance learning can be daunting. I thank you for the information you have provided and look forward to looking into the digital citizenship resources more closely and sharing it with my teachers.
