The need for developing social emotional learning and intelligence in schools and in classrooms has become more and more evident as the research presented shows us. This research project outlined and demonstrated very clearly just how this can be accomplished in schools in the support of student learning and success.
The research presented supports the need for social-emotional learning in schools and classrooms in that it empowers children to manage their own behavior in positive and productive ways, shifting control to the child. I can see how without the daily social interactive support that students are exposed to as part of their daily learning and social routines in school is vital to the child’s development. This development is fundamental to emotional-intelligence learning, along with acquiring the ability to manage one’s emotions as they are exposed to various situations as they grow older. I very much saw the very clear correlation between social emotional learning and Whole Child Development.
