The Academic Media Center is focused on helping students, faculty and staff with the design, development, and production of multimedia in support of their curriculum and mission of St. Mary’s University.
Our Academic Media Center provides certification opportunities allowing users to check out AV equipment such as DSLR Cameras, Portable Audio, and Projector/Display packages. Certifications are required for students but encouraged for faculty and staff. Laptop
We have a selection of Dell laptops for short-term checkout. Our normal checkout length is for a 2-week checkout duration.
Projectors
We have several digital projectors ready for your mobile presentation or special event. Whether your computer is VGA or HDMI-based, we’ll connect you with a portable projector that will work with your computer needs. Our projectors even have an internal 10-watt speakers that suffice for most small classrooms or presentation spaces.
Projector Screen
We’ve got a variety of widescreen and traditional portable projector screens,. Whether it’s a major event or you just want to practice your upcoming presentation, we’ve got a lightweight pop-up screen just for you.
Display Adapters
We’ve got a selection of HDMI and VGA adapters to connect your laptop to campus displays. Whether it’s a classroom or a special event setup, come by and we’ll make sure you have what you need. Our adapters are short-term checkout items. We can also help you research and price out adapters for your specific device.
USB Web Cameras
This Web cameras are perfect for interviews, meetings, and classes where you need a close up shot of you for Zoom, etc. With 1080 HD, stereo mics on each side, and a 6ft USB extension cable, our Logitech 930c Web cams are extremely versatile and to give you a perfect shot.
Conference Web Cameras
When you need a camera for your small class or meeting, our new collection of Web cameras can save the day. We have a few that follow the speaker’s voice when you put it in the middle of the room or table, and others that are perfect for your personal Web video recordings. Come check them out.
Tripod
Tripod designed for photography. Can be tilted 90 degrees and the center column can be raised or lowered.
Graphic Drawing Tablet
These writing surfaces allow you turn any computer into a stylus-pen writing computer. Now you can use Zoom’s “whiteboard” feature with precision and accuracy.
Presentation Clicker
Simple and ergonomic remote control for your presentation needs. Wireless range so you can advance your slides regardless of where you stand or what direction you face.
Digital (USB) Microphone
Our selection of Yeti and other usb-microphones offer studio-quality sound capture straight into your computer. Perfect for Zoom recordings, lectures, podcasts, voice-overs, and any sound project needing a higher quality.
Portable Speaker
This compact and portable PA speaker system allows you to amplify you voice without the effort of having to project you voice. Great for when you have to talk to a group with a mask on.
Headphones
Great for when you work on a project where high quality audio is mission critical.
Portable Doc Cams
These lightweight document cameras have VGA and HDMI outputs for just about any projector. The HD hanging camera allows you to place anything underneath and auto focus with ease. Add a USB cable and you can use it as a second web camera with Zoom.
Pro AV Equipment (Certification Required)
Digital Video Camera
Most professional option for video recording that we have available. Allows for direct manual control over every element of video and audio recording options. A great step towards professional industry video cameras, while still being easy enough for casual filmmaking.
DSLR Camera (Photo/Video)
Works in a variety of lighting conditions; has a great sensitivity range. This camera can record RAW and/or JPEG images to a standard SD memory card.
Large Speaker and Tripod
Our large speaker and tripod stand kits allow your event come to life with sound. Ask us which solution is best for your event.
Lighting Equipment
Lighting makes a big difference. And if you’re on a shoot with our digital cameras or your own, lighting may make the difference between a good shoot or a bad one. We caretake a couple of lighting kits that may be perfect for what you need. You can also ask us for a few DYI tips that can help when you’re in the field.
Wired and Wireless Microphones
Our collection of wired and wireless microphones offer the community expanded voice amplification when paired with our high-quality portable speaker systems. Ask us which solution is best for your event.
