Online Teaching Certification Program

The Online Teaching Certification Program (OTCP) is designed to support faculty entering into St. Mary’s online learning environment, offering our instructors pedagogical tips and strategies for effective online teaching and a platform for creating academically rigorous and rewarding online courses that contribute to St. Mary’s overarching commitment to cultivating and educating for the common good.

ATS offers the OTCP at the beginning of every Fall and Spring semester. The OTCP is a self-paced course and should require about 10 to 12 contact hours with ATS in the duration of the program. As you progress through the course, you can stop at any point along the way and return to that stopping point the next time you log in. The course consists of seven learning modules with a suggested timeline of 10 – 12 weeks, this includes time to work on creating an online course for future use.
