Digital Video (DV) Camera

Most professional option for video recording that we have available. Allows for direct manual control over every element of video and audio recording options. A great step towards professional industry video cameras, while still being easy enough for casual film making.

Operation Overview

 

  • DV Camera Certification
  • Mount camera on tripod if necessary
  • Plug in power cord
  • Turn on camera using the on button located at the top right corner of the device
  • Remove lens cap from the lens by gently squeezing the two locks towards the center then pulling the cap off
  • Rotate lens to focus

How much does it cost to check out equipment?

Checking out St. Mary’s media equipment is free for all current St. Mary’s students, faculty, and staff.

How do I get DV Camera Certified?

What do I do if the camera is not focusing?

Make sure that the lens cap is removed. Rotate the lens back into the start postion then re-adjust. Make sure that your focus setting are set to auto. Check that when taking photos you hold down briefly to focus before releasing the shutter to take the photo.

Why won't the camera turn on?

Check that the battery is charged and is in inside the camera. Check that the power cord is plugged into both a working outlet and the camera. On the top right of the camera rotate the dial from off to on.

What happens if the camera is lost or damaged?

Where do I go to checkout equipment?

After filling out the equipment check out form you will recieve a confirmation emil. You can go to the Acedemic Media Center located in the Library Commons to pick up or return equipment.
